you fill the three gallon container first, and poor the wine in the three gal con. into the five gallon container. now there are three gallons in the five gal container. then fill up the three gallon container again and poor wine from that one into the five gallon container again until the five gallon is filled. the remainder of the wine left in the three gallon container is one gallon.
