| you have 2 eggs, you need to figure out the highest story of a 100-story building where you can drop an egg such that it doesn't break...what strategy should you use to minimize the number of drops? if an egg doesn't break when you drop it it doesn't get any weaker and all floors are equally likely to be the one

| The riddle doesn't state that the egg has to be dropped off the side of the building, or indeed how far the egg has to drop. A person could take an egg up to the top floor and drop it from one hand then catch it in the other hand, leaving the egg intact after its short drop of only a few inches. No?

| yeah but if you had to drop it off the side, you could start with the bottom floor (seeing that it doesn't get any weaker with every drop) and go up a floor every time the egg doesnt break. This way, you only need two eggs to figure out the highest story you can drop the egg without breaking it.
