Turns out being gay isn't a decision, researchers have discovered that gay men's brains react differently to female phermones than straight men.
In a related story, for the 2nd time in 2 years a major anti-gay political figure has been outed as a gay man. Turns out these anti-gay legislations more often than not are created by gay men trying to overcompensate!

Yeah, but that's pretty sad, isn't it?
People have to pretend to hate themselves simply because our society tells us that's what we have to do with gay people - hate them!
Why?!

There are a few problems with those studies. First off, how effective are pheromones anyway? Aren't they washed out when a person takes a shower? Pheromones are a scent after all, when was the last time you felt drawn to a member of the opposite sex or same sex even by their smell?
Personally I think the biggest problem of all is that the brain is the mos outside influenced organ in the human body! Yes DNA is a humongous part in its developement. But human beings remember what they experience more than not aspects of their personalities.
Which do YOU think shaped YOU more? Your DNA? or your day to day life? Homosexuality is a choice, just as taking the short or scenic route is a choice, or how eating a cupcake or eating a dagger is a choice. Life is FULL of choices! The human brain makes somwhere around 30,000 decisions a minute, both conscious and unconscious. Homosexuality is indeed a choice, perhaps there may be situations where it is an unconscoius choice, but it is a choice nonetheless.
Also, since when are ANY two human beings alike? Of course there will be differences in how one reacts to pheromones, most likely it has to deal with horomones.
Ever consider the possibility that perhaps the brain of one gay reacts differently because that person believes that he/she is homosexual? Belief is very much a part of your brain.

Sorry, unclever, evidence doesn't support gay being a choice.
Phermones are chemical signals and they are always being released even after you shower. You don't have to smell a scent of phermones to respond to them. The lack of scent doesn't mean they don't exist.
- Sure, experiences shape who you are, but if it was so important then people raised in the same family would either be all gay or all not gay.
- Anti-gay activists and priests would not be gay if they could "decide" not to.

Just being in the same family doesn't make you the same person as your lybrother/sister, your parents will treat you differently as you are two different people. Much in the same way your own oppinions of the people you interact with will change the way in which you are influenced by them, oh and you ARE influnced by them, whether or not your immediate actions are affected.
My point is that there are far too many unconrollable factors to make a solid determination of whether sexual preference is based on choice or genetics. Based upon my religious beliefs I find it as a choice even if a person may be predisposed to one side or the other.
Also, I do not hate gay people, I just don't like their decision. Much in he same way how I don't hate a murderer based soley on their crime, that person may have reformed, or may do so in the future, but I still do not condone the action.
