Not to sound cynical, but this kind of makes sense. Think of it from an economical view, braces cost money always (unless you have orthodontical connections...) child molestation, on the other hand, is "free" for the child, and if the molester doesn't get caught then it is "free" for him/her too. However, if the molester is caught then it was never worth it for it costs far more than braces will ever cost to get their life back, oh and it hurts their bank account as well.

No, I don't condone child molestation in the slightest, so don't ever accuse me of so.

Just taking a look as to at least one reason why it gets done is that people tend to think they can get away with things, but any event can come back to haunt you.
