I want to see what the people on this forum have to say about the infamous GRY riddle.

"Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There
are three words people say in the English language that end in GRY.
What is the third word? The word is something that everyone will say everyday. If you listen carefully to what I say , I have already told you the answer three times."

Note: I have picked up on hints from the actual originater of this riddle. This riddle was meant to be read OUT LOUD, do not take spelling into account only the sounds of the words and letters. I'll try to give you more hints if i come across them.

Another hint: pronounce the R like OR

Would that pronunciation be to pronounce R as the word "OR" or to pronounce are as the you would pronounce the R found in "OR?"

And also, I have no guess to give.

The word is "say" because GRY (while you pronounce the R as or) sounds like G or Y. And say ends in Y. You also said "say" three times.

That would be to pronounce the R in GRY like or, and i think that Vertabladehot2m has the best answer.

Sorry, I just don't see where it would say injury, in the text or when you say it out loud.

when you pronounce gry as in hungry and angry it sounds the same as the gree in agree and disagree and the gory in gory. the jury in injury is not quite there but its just a guess. again there are way more than 3 words in the English language that end in g or y.
anyway I'm gonna guess again, even though I'm not guessing now because I looked up the answer Razz
"words" is the third word, and yes word is said 3 times in the riddle

while looking for the answer I found these wonderful pages Very Happy

what I meant was to pronounce GRY like G or Y, that should make more sense, and also went everyware to find the answer yet I've seen at least 10 different answers. And I saw a hint by the actual creater of the riddle, although you do put up a good argument.

hey guys, this riddle is infamous for it's lack of an answer. Turns out it's worded differently by different people and is likely unsolvable... There is no third word that rhymes with gry, check out http://www.some-guy.com/bb/topic3629.html

for the best answer I've found

the -GRY riddle doesn't have anything to do with finding the third word ending in GRY. the answer itself is in the riddle. It was incorrectly written on this forum so i found the original...

Think of words ending in "-gry". "Angry" and "hungry" are two of them. There are only three words in "the English language." What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is.

when written in bold, you can see the answer of the third word is language.

The answer is language. The riddle was changed and the original riddle was this; "Think of words ending in -GRY. Angry and hungry are two of them. There are only three words in the English language. What is the third word? The word is something that everyone uses every day. If you have listened carefully, I have already told you what it is."
"There are only three words in the English language." So, the is word one, English is word two, and word three is language. That means the answer is language.
