I've been given this riddle and i cant work it out, ive come up with dozens of possibilities but theyve all been wrong.

if you hold the password, you probably don't know that you do ...although you certainly know you hold the first half ...and you've already shown the whole of it to someone, even if you haven't seen it yourself.
