just a guess but maybe robby yelled "ROBERT!" A someone thought he said "Robber!" and arrested him.

My guess is robert had already robbed the bank , thus he was crying. So Robert when to jail and Robby didn't.
( Ya i know thats probably wrong be oh well

| The truth is that Robby and Robert are Siamese twins and you can't send Robby to jail without punishing Robert (who is obviously innocent) as well. And I don't think you should send an innocent man to jail...

| ya they're twins perhaps identical twins so if they saw who it was but had no clue of a name then robert went to jail instead

| They were identical twins and robby ran home and acted like he was never there and so therefore Robert took the fall. Cause people placed someone that looked like Robby at the scene and Robby was still there.
