Well, if each house has a line to the utility across from it that satisfies the first part. Then if the houses share three 3 pipes between each of them then each house has a connection to each utility satisfying the last part. And, with no crossed pipes.

I have a pseudo-solution, however, I have found that I do not know how to upload an image fro my computer onto a forum or any website for that matter, if someone could help me with that then I'll have my answer up in a jiffy.

As for why I call it a pseudo-solution... well, you'll just have to wait and see...

All you have to do is but each of the things you need in each house. This kid gave me the same riddle. For example. You put oil in one house, gas in one house, and water in one house. Then you run a pipe from each house to connect with the other and then you connect a pipe to the last house encircle the house from above and connect it with the first house. Its confusing to explain. Basicly if all the houses are side by side you connect a pipe from the first house to the second and then the second to the third. Then connect a pipe from the last to the first house.

I hope this helps....

Okay I think I got something here, sorry for the quality the site I used required the image to be less than 250 Kb which turned a nice pretty picture into a ugly beast!!

The thin portion on the green line is where the gas line goes, not under another line, but under the house, this is why I call it a pseudo-solution as it technically is not crossing lines, however, it does make use of the third dimension which was probably not the intended solution.

Well here it be

(Edit)
Or so it should be, but somehow it doesn't show up on my 'puter, and I've edited this a few times having thus tried placing it as a link, which has utterly failed to show up at all, probably as it says HTML is off even though my profile is set to always allow it. Hmm...

Well I hope some of you can see it.
